Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist at St. Charles Hospital. The role supports the surgical team by preparing sterile instruments and supplies, maintaining aseptic technique, and assisting with case preparation throughout operative procedures.

The ideal candidate holds an Associates Degree or equivalent in Surgical Technology, with CST/NBSTA/NCCT certification. BLS preferred; one year perioperative experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Associates degree, vocational certification, or military certificate in Surgical Technology is required.
• One year of perioperative, operating room, or related military surgical technology experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association is preferred.
• Certification: CST, NBSTA or TS-C; NCCT required.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedures while maintaining aseptic technique.
• Prepares, maintains, and organizes sterile supplies and instruments for procedures.
• Adapts instrument, supply, and equipment needs for each case.
• Assists with pre- and post-procedure cleaning of the operating room and instruments.
• Performs surgical skin prep and clipping as indicated by procedure.
