Job summary

Mercy Health in Ohio is seeking a part-time Surgical Technologist to facilitate invasive procedures by preparing sterile instruments and maintaining the sterile field. You’ll assist the surgical team, perform counts, and ensure aseptic technique, with on-call flexibility and ongoing education participation.

The role requires CST/ NBSTA/ TS-C/ NCCT certification and an Associate degree or equivalent in Surgical Technology, with basic life support preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology (required).
• Must be certified by CST / NBSTA / TS-C / NCCT (required).
• BLS preferred upon hire, must obtain prior to direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Scrub person during operative procedures by assembling supplies and equipment.
• Prepare sterile supplies and instrument sets; perform surgical counts.
• Maintain sterile field and assist with drape placement.
• Prepare, label, and collect specimens; report implanted devices to circulator.
• Assist with pre/post procedure cleaning and patient safety measures.
• On call as scheduled and orient new staff and students.
