Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Ohio is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team. You will prepare sterile instruments, maintain the sterile field, and assist the surgical team during procedures.

The role requires CST/NBSTSA/TS-C certification, an associate degree in Surgical Technology, and a minimum of one year perioperative experience. On-site schedule includes days/evenings and rotating on-call.

Qualifications

• Certification required: CST, NBSTSA, or TS-C (TS-C not accepted for Surgical Tech jobs in Cincinnati)
• BLS Basic Life Support required or preferred before independent patient care
• Education: Associate degree in Surgical Technology (required)
• Work Experience: 1 year perioperative or related surgical tech experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Functions as scrub person and assists during operative procedures
• Prepares and organizes sterile supplies and instruments
• Maintains aseptic technique and sterile field
• Performs surgical counts with circulating RN
• Retrieves and labels specimens
• Reports implanted devices, catheters, drains, and packing
• Assists with patient care and pre/post-procedure cleaning
• Participates in safety and competency initiatives
• On-call as scheduled
• Mentors new staff and students
