Qualifications

• Degree from accredited academic nursing program
• Minimum ADN preparation
• State of NM or Compact State Nursing License required
• Certification from AHA/ASHI/Red Cross required
• BLS for RN roles
• ACLS/NRP/PALS as applicable
• NRP/PALS for specified units

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of patient care and delegate tasks to home health aides and nursing staff
• Maintain clinical competency and evaluate outcomes to adjust care plans
• Coordinate patient care with patients, families, physicians and community resources
• Explain patient rights, informed consent and advance directives during admission
• Assess and direct patient and family teaching needs using return demonstrations
• Keep up-to-date with nursing standards, policies and equipment
• Communicate effectively with the nursing team and other disciplines
• Participate in problem solving and conflict resolution to maintain team cohesion
• Perform on-call duties and triage patients by phone and in person
