Job summary
Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse Inpatient to provide skilled, compassionate care for acutely ill patients in alignment with NM's mission and standards.
You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care, delegate appropriately, collaborate with patients, families and the health team, and document outcomes. ER/Peds shifts require ACLS, PALS/ENPC and TNCC within one year of hire.
Qualifications
- BSN or ADN with commitment to obtain BSN within three years of employment.
- Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate with others.
- Strong analytic abilities.
- ER: ACLS; PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year of hire.
- Pediatric ER: Pediatric Advanced Life Support; TNCC within one year of hire.
Responsibilities
- Assess and coordinate nursing care for acutely ill patients through the full nursing process.
- Interact effectively with patients, families and the health care team.
- Collect data, plan, implement and evaluate individualized care.
- Direct care and utilize assistants appropriately.
- Collaborate with patients, families, physicians and staff with outcome-focused plans.
- Participate in governance, committees and unit projects.
- Document patient responses and adjust plans based on evaluations.
- Apply the best available evidence to guide nursing practice.
