Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse Inpatient to deliver high-quality nursing care for acutely ill patients. The nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while coordinating with the health care team and families.

The role emphasizes adherence to ANA standards, evidence-based practice, and participation in unit governance and projects. A BSN and Illinois RN license are required, with BLS and potentially ACLS/PALS depending on unit.

Qualifications

• BSN required or comm. to obtain BSN within three years.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse licensure.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS may be required for ER/Pediatric ER roles.
• ADN is acceptable if candidate commits to BSN within three years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes patient data and outcomes.
• Directs care and utilizes any nursing assistants appropriately.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff to plan care.
• Participates in governance, committees, and unit projects.
• Documents responses to nursing interventions and adjusts plans accordingly.
• Uses evidence and research to guide nursing practice.
