UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for Inpatient Psychiatry to act as the pharmacy expert on the interdisciplinary team at William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital.

The role leads department initiatives, educates staff, and supports quality improvement while rounding on the inpatient service and monitoring drug therapy. The candidate will precept residents and students, coordinate multidisciplinary in-services, and contribute to cost-effective

Qualifications

• ASHP-accredited PGY1 and PGY2 residencies or 5+ years progressive clinical practice in a specialty
• 5 years progressive clinical practice in specialty or 8 years with PGY1
• Bachelor's Degree or PharmD from ACPE accredited school
• PharmD degree from ACPE accredited school
• Eligible for licensure by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy within 30 days
• BLS and ACLS certifications required for inpatient positions

Responsibilities

• Performs duties per policies and regulatory standards; drives performance improvement
• Coordinates staff training, competencies, and education for specialty
• Mentor clinical staff pharmacists and participate in education of students and residents
• Manage formulary processes and cost-effective pharmaceutical choices
• Participate in P&T committee and service line meetings
• Provide education through rounds, information exchanges, and drug information materials
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adapt to changes in work methods
• Take ownership of problem solving and ensure timely resolution
