Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center seeks an experienced pharmacist to serve as the Internal Medicine specialty lead on the acute care team. This role rounds with the inpatient service, evaluates and adjusts therapies to improve outcomes, and mentors residents and students.

The position emphasizes education, quality initiatives, and participation in departmental projects, with opportunities for cost-saving and formulary optimization.

Qualifications

• Education: Both PGY1 and PGY2 from an ASHP-accredited residency program.
• Experience: 5 years progressive clinical practice in specialty; 8 years in some cases.
• Licenses/Certifications: BLS; Texas licensure eligibility; ACLS for inpatient positions.

Responsibilities

• Rounding on inpatient Internal Medicine service; optimize drug therapy for patient safety.
• Lead IM service initiatives and education for pharmacy staff and learners.
• Mentor pharmacy residents/students and participate in cost-savings projects.
