Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center seeks a pharmacist to join the acute care pharmacy team as the Internal Medicine specialist. You will lead IM pharmacy initiatives, educate colleagues and learners, and round on the inpatient IM service to optimize therapy and safety.

Responsibilities include precepting residents/students, contributing to cost-saving projects, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to advance IM practice and patient care.

Qualifications

• ASHP-accredited residency (PGY1 and PGY2) completed.
• 5+ years of progressive clinical practice in a specialty, or 8+ years.
• PharmD or BS in Science from ACPE-accredited program.
• Proficiency in English; able to manage stress and adapt to a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Rounding on inpatient Internal Medicine service and optimizing therapy.
• Educate and precept pharmacy residents and students.
• Lead department initiatives and participate in quality improvements.
• Monitor drug therapy, safety, and pharmacokinetic calculations.
• Participate in P&T activities and cost-effective formulary management.
• Mentor clinical staff and support interdisciplinary teams.
