Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Laboratory Hospital Phlebotomist responsible for specimen collection, processing, and data entry. You will support quality patient care, accuracy in labeling, and proper specimen handling in a fast-paced hospital lab.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, maintaining supplies, training new staff, performing venipuncture and dermal puncture, and ensuring secure test order entry and reporting to physicians.

Qualificações

• High school diploma required.
• One year of phlebotomy experience or completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.
• ASCP phlebotomy certification desired.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• Customer service experience helpful.
• Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills required.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsabilidades

• Greets patients, visitors, family, physicians, and associates professionally.
• Monitors and maintains adequate phlebotomy supplies and materials to ensure smooth operations.
• Responsible for training new associates and students from phlebotomy programs.
• Addresses customers’ needs efficiently and confidentially.
• Performs blood collection by venipuncture and dermal puncture following proper standards.
• Labels samples precisely as policies dictate.
• Accepts and accession specimens delivered by physicians and nursing staff.
• Enter test orders and patient information into the lab system accurately.
• Provide reports to physicians and nursing units as requested.
• Prints workflow reports and communicates delays to the supervisor.
