Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Laboratory Hospital Phlebotomist to collect specimens and perform data entry, supporting the lab operations and patient care processes. You will ensure proper labeling, specimen handling, and timely communication with physicians and nursing staff.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, dermal puncture, training new staff, and maintaining inventory while following safety and confidentiality policies. Evening, weekend coverage may be required.

Formación

• High school diploma required.
• One year phlebotomy experience or completion of accredited phlebotomy program.
• ASCP phlebotomy certification desired.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• Previous customer service experience helpful.
• Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills required.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsabilidades

• Greet patients, visitors, physicians and Associates courteously.
• Maintain phlebotomy supply inventory and patient prep materials.
• Train new associates and students from phlebotomy programs.
• Perform blood collection by venipuncture and dermal puncture.
• Accurately label and accession specimens per policy.
• Enter test orders and patient information into LIS/Lab system.
• Provide reports to physicians and nursing units as requested.
• Adhere to policies and confidentiality requirements.
