The successful candidate will have a high school diploma, phlebotomy training or experience, and strong interpersonal and telephone communication abilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• One year of phlebotomy experience or successful completion of an accredited, structured phlebotomy training program.
• ASCP phlebotomy certification desired.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire
• Previous customer service experience helpful.
• Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills required.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work required.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks required.

Responsabilités

• Greets all patients, visitors, family members, physicians, and associates in a courteous and professional manner.
• Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of phlebotomy supplies and materials.
• Responsible for training new associates and students from affiliated phlebotomy programs.
• Performs blood collection by venipuncture and dermal puncture following proper laboratory standards and procedures.
• Responsible for precise labeling and execution of all specimen collections.
• Accepts and accession specimens delivered to the laboratory by physicians and nursing personnel.
• Enter test orders and patient information into the laboratory computer system accurately.
• Provide oral or written reports upon request from physicians and nursing units.
