Mary Washington Healthcare seeks a Laboratory Hospital Phlebotomist to perform specimen collection, processing, and data entry, supporting the hospital’s mission and quality care commitments.

The role requires phlebotomy experience, high school diploma, and CPR certification; ASCP is preferred. You will train associates, maintain inventory, and ensure accurate labeling and data entry in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• One year of phlebotomy experience or successful completion of an accredited, structured phlebotomy training program.
• ASCP phlebotomy certification desired.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• Previous customer service experience helpful.
• Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills required.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsabilités

• Greet patients, visitors, physicians, and Associates in a courteous manner.
• Maintain phlebotomy supply inventory and patient preparations for smooth operations.
• Train new associates and students from affiliated programs.
• Perform venipuncture and dermal puncture following standards.
• Label and accession specimens accurately per policy.
• Enter test orders and patient data into the LIMS.
• Provide reports to physicians and nursing units as requested.
• Print workflow reports and communicate delays to supervisor.
