Job summary

Sentara Healthcare Inc. in Norfolk, VA, seeks a Full-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

The role performs dispensing tasks under supervision, supports patient care, and ensures supply continuity within a hospital setting. The ideal candidate holds a Virginia Pharmacy Tech License, with preferred CPhT certification, and is comfortable with rotating 8-hour shifts, 6am–11pm, including occasional overnight coverage and every-other-weekend rotations.

Qualifications

• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License is required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• CPhT License preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under supervision of a licensed pharmacist or practitioner.
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates questions outside the technician's scope of practice.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.
• Maintains quality assurance per departmental and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately.

Sentara is hiring a Full-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA.

$5,000 Sign-On Bonus for Qualified Candidates!

Location: Norfolk, VA- Sentara Norfolk General Hospital

Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk)

Shift: Rotating (8 hour shift)

Hours: 6am-11pm* (occasional overnight coverage)

Weekends: Every Other Weekend

Holiday Rotation

*Hours may vary to meet pharmacy staffing needs.
