Job summary

The Pharmacist - Inpatient at Mercy Health Lorain Hospital is a PRN position supporting medication management to ensure safe, effective, and cost-conscious therapy. You will collaborate with the pharmacy team, physicians, and care staff to review orders, advise on dosing, and provide patient education.

Successful candidates will hold an active pharmacist license in the relevant state(s), graduate from an ACPE-accredited program (BS or PharmD), and may have an advanced pharmacy degree.

Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacist in the state(s) of practice.
• Graduate from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy (BS or PharmD).
• Advanced pharmacy degree (PharmD/Master/Residency) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review orders for safety, efficacy and appropriateness.
• Ensure accurate preparation and safe handling of products.
• Oversee dispensing and pharmaceutical inventory activities.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff.
• Document and resolve adverse drug events and near misses.
• Provide patient education on medications and adherence.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams and communicate clearly.
