Job summary

Mercy Health in Lorain is seeking a Pharmacist for inpatient care. The role focuses on safe, cost-effective therapy, medication review, and collaboration with the pharmacy team and clinicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

The position requires a pharmacist license in the relevant state, ACPE-accredited education, and experience. Shift is nights on a 7-on/7-off cycle, with full-time hours and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS or PharmD (required).
• Active pharmacist license in the state(s) where practicing (required).
• One year of experience in field of pharmacy practice (preferred).
• Exhibit proficient use of computer systems and provide patient education.

Responsibilities

• Process orders and provide medication review for appropriateness, safety and efficacy.
• Oversee dispensary functions to ensure timely medication availability.
• Oversee technicians and support staff to meet department needs.
• Maintain security and accountability for pharmacy inventory.
• Identify and document adverse medication events and participate in safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and educate patients to improve adherence.
