Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a PRN Pharmacist to support medication management at West Hospital, focusing on safe and cost-effective therapy and compliance with all regulations. The role involves collaboration with pharmacy staff, clinicians, patients, and leaders to ensure high-quality care.

The ideal candidate has an ACPE-accredited PharmD or BS, is licensed in the state(s) of practice, and has at least 2 years of acute care experience; leadership experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS or PharmD (required)
• Current license to practice pharmacy in the state(s) where practicing (required)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience (required)
• 1 year of leadership experience (preferred)
• Experience in pharmacy practice (required)
• Immunization certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Process orders and provide medication review for safety and efficacy
• Oversee safe preparation of compounded and non-compounded products
• Oversee distribution to ensure timely medication availability
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
• Maintain inventory security and accountability
• Identify and document adverse medication events and trends
• Provide medication education to patients
• Communicate with pharmacy team, providers, patients, and leaders
• Participate in medication safety and drug utilization reviews
