Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a PRN Pharmacist to perform medication management activities ensuring safe, rational, and cost-effective therapy in accordance with applicable rules and standards. The role requires travel between Mercy Health sites in Ohio and related facilities, with the flexibility to support multiple locations as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a Pharmacist license in Ohio, a BS or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited school, and experience in pharmacy practice.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS or PharmD (required).
• Advanced pharmacy degree – Doctor of Pharmacy, Masters, Residency (preferred).
• Experience in field of pharmacy practice (required).
• One year of experience in field of pharmacy practice (preferred).
• Maintains current license for pharmacist in the state(s) where practicing (required).

Responsibilities

• Process orders and provide medication review for appropriateness, safety and efficacy.
• Ensure accurate preparation of compounded and non-compounded products.
• Oversee distributive functions of the pharmacy department.
• Oversee pharmacy technicians and support personnel activities.
• Maintain responsibility and accountability for inventory security.
• Identify and resolve adverse medication events and evaluate reports.
• Provide medication education to improve patient understanding and adherence.
• Communicate with pharmacy team, healthcare providers, patients, and leaders.
• Travel between locations as needed.
