Job summary

Ascension Health is seeking a pharmacist at Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh, WI. The role supports the Pharmacy department with evening shifts, 40 hours per week, including every third weekend and holiday rotation.

You will optimize medication therapy, educate clinicians and patients, and mentor technicians while collaborating with care teams to improve safety and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist license from Wisconsin required before hire.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.
• Minimum 3 years hospital pharmacy experience; PGY1 residency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate complex medication orders and resolve drug-related issues per guidelines.
• Provide precise compounding, dispensing and drug therapy education to teams and patients.
• Mentor pharmacy technicians and students; act as preceptor and clinical expert.

Your future role at a glance

• Location: Oshkosh, WI

• Facility: Mercy Hospital

• Department: Pharmacy

• Schedule: Full-time evenings | 40 hours per week | 10-hour shifts 7:30am to 6pm or 1pm to 11:30pm | every third weekend and every third holiday rotation

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Optimize pharmaceutical care by evaluating complex medication orders to proactively resolve drug-related issues and ensure alignment with clinical guidelines and formulary standards.

• Deliver precise compounding, dispensing, and comprehensive drug therapy education to physicians, clinical teams, and patients to maximize treatment effectiveness and safety.

• Lead and mentor pharmacy technicians and students, serving as a preceptor and clinical expert to drive operational excellence and professional growth within the pharmacy team.

• Collaborate directly with interdisciplinary care teams and physicians to design tailored medication regimens and empower patients through clear, supportive therapeutic counseling.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Pharmacist credentialed from the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.

Additional Preferences

• Minimum of 3 prior years of hospital pharmacy experience required.
• PGY1 acute care residency preferred.
