Job summary

Ascension Alexian Brothers Pharmacy in Elk Grove Village, IL is seeking a licensed pharmacist to manage medication therapy, ensure safety, and educate patients and staff. The role includes supervising technicians and collaborating with clinicians to optimize patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate will hold a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy and Illinois licensure, with PGY1 residency preferred. Rotating shift, full-time position with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

• Ensure safe and effective medication management by reviewing, verifying, compounding, dispensing, and overseeing appropriate selection, dosing, and administration of medications.
• Identify, prevent, and resolve drug-related problems; recommend formulary alternatives; and collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to optimize patient care.
• Supervise and support pharmacy technical personnel in medication preparation, maintenance, and distribution processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Provide drug information, patient counseling, and education to medical staff and patients; support academic initiatives as a preceptor and provide coverage across pharmacy operations as needed.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Pharmacist credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.
• PharmD or Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy; PGY1 Pharmacy Residency preferred.
