Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Patient Care Technician I for inpatient care on 4 East. This 32-hour-per-week day-shift role supports nurses with direct patient care, monitors patients, and helps with daily living activities.

Under supervision of licensed staff, you will take vital signs, assist in procedures, maintain safety, document observations, and communicate clearly with the care team. A high school education and Basic Life Support certification are required.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English clearly.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, timely communication to the RN about patient observations.
• Monitor high-risk patients as assigned.
• Assist with daily living activities and patient mobility.
• Take vital signs and record measurements.
• Assist with treatments and prepare equipment as directed.
