Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician II for the Inpatient North Pavilion in Worcester, MA. This full-time, 32-hour weekly position supports licensed clinicians and provides direct patient care on days, with a structured 7a-3p shift.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, BLS, and prior PCT I experience of at least 800 hours. The role involves vital signs, specimen collection, EKGs, and patient safety responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school education or GED.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Proven competency at the Patient Care Technician I level with 800 hours and 6 months PCT I experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under supervision of licensed clinicians.
• Monitor and record vital signs and patient observations.
• Assist with daily living activities and safe patient positioning.
• Support treatment processes and equipment setup.
• Perform phlebotomy where required and collect specimens.
• Assist with EKGs and point-of-care tests.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of patient areas.
• Communicate clearly with the care team and document appropriately.
