Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician for inpatient nursing with rotating 12-hour shifts (days 7am-7:30pm and nights 7pm-7:30am). This full-time role supports RNs by delivering basic care and ensuring patient comfort in a fast-paced hospital environment.

You will monitor vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, and communicate changes to nursing staff. A high school diploma and BLS are required, with CNA/MA/EMT or nursing student status considered; benefits

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA/Certified Medical Assistant/EMT or nursing student with one semester of clinical completed required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Responsabilités

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated by an RN.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating).
• Reports abnormal findings to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Demonstrates flexibility and prioritization under stress.
• Acts as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
• Answers calls and communicates information to staff/family/patients.
• Manages unit workflow with charge RN or assistant manager as needed.
• Performs pre-census and validates admission/discharge lists.
