Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a Medical Records Technician (Coder) for an on-site role in Florida. You will assign codes to outpatient/inpatient encounters using ICD, CPT and HCPCS and ensure documentation supports the codes.

You will review health records, abstract data, and help staff align with coding guidelines. The position requires knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and AHIMA coding programs; relocation within commutable distance may be considered.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and coding concepts.
• Experience with medical coding systems (ICD/CPT/HCPCS) and health information management.
• Strong attention to accuracy and documentation integrity.

Responsibilities

• Assign codes to documented patient care encounters (outpatient and inpatient).
• Select codes from ICD, CPT, and HCPCS according to guidelines.
• Ensure code accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Review patient records to abstract data for VA databases and reporting.
• Assist staff with documentation requirements and software tools.
• Operate health information systems and encoder software; train staff.
