Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Nurse Manager to coordinate resources for optimal patient care in a large, integrated system. You will oversee staffing, supplies, and nursing systems while promoting evidence-based practice and governance across departments.

The role requires RN licensure with a Bachelor's in Nursing (and a Master's preferred), plus about 5 years of nursing leadership experience including budgeting and staff supervision.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of nursing management concepts, clinical practice, and facilities policies and procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to deal with conflict resolution.
• Strong aptitude in human resource management.
• Ability to handle multiple demands simultaneously.
• Sound decision making and critical thinking skills.
• Proficient in use of computers, software, and other electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and manages resources to provide optimal nursing care, including staffing, supplies, and automated systems.
• Maintains productivity with 24-hour staffing and scheduling patterns within labor standards.
• Evaluates quality of care using standards, outcomes and indicators; ensures resources for performance improvement initiatives.
• Develops service strategies and monitors levels against indicators to improve customer and patient satisfaction; coordinates services with other areas.
• Promotes effective relationships among patients, families, staff, other departments, and vendors; acts as liaison between medical and nursing staffs.
• Facilitates evidence-based nursing to align practice with organizational goals and cost management.
