Job summary

Medasource is hiring experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract opportunity with a leading regional health system. The role supports high-acuity, multi-specialty inpatient cases, requiring strong coding skills and familiarity with Epic EHR and the 3M encoder.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of inpatient coding experience, CCS certification (RHIT/RHIA considered), and the ability to work remotely in PST hours. This is a 6-month contract with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience.
• Experience with multi-specialty inpatient coding in a clinical setting.
• Proficiency with Epic EHR for coding and documentation.
• Experience using the 3M encoder for coding accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across specialties including Cardiology, Neurology, Surgery, Transplants, NICU.
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes per standards and regulations.
• Maintain timely, accurate coding in a high-acuity environment while meeting productivity goals.
• Ensure coding quality and accuracy to support coding audits and billing processes.

Medasource is partnering with a leading regional health system to hire experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract opportunity. This role supports a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment and is ideal for coders with strong experience handling complex inpatient cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties, including: Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Additional complex inpatient cases
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations

Qualifications

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background
• Experience working within an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EHR
• Experience using the 3M encoder
