Job summary

Medasource is partnering with a leading health system to hire experienced inpatient medical coders for a fully remote contract position. The role supports a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment, ideal for coders with strong experience handling complex inpatient cases.

The contract is 6 months with potential extension, start date ASAP, and remote work aligned to PST hours. Candidates with CCS preferred and RHIT/RHIA considered are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• CCS preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will be considered.
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience.
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background, including complex cases.
• Proficiency with Epic EHR and experience using the 3M encoder.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across cardiology, neurology, surgical cases, transplants, NICU, and other complex inpatient cases.
• Assign diagnosis and procedure codes per organizational, regulatory, and industry standards.
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations.

Medasource is partnering with a leading regional health system to hire experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract opportunity. This role supports a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment and is ideal for coders with strong experience handling complex inpatient cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties, including: Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Additional complex inpatient cases
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations

Qualifications

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background
• Experience working within an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EHR
• Experience using the 3M encoder
