Job summary

Medasource is partnering with a regional health system to hire experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote, six-month contract. The role supports high-acuity, multi-specialty inpatient cases and is suitable for coders with strong complex case experience.

Responsibilities include inpatient coding across multiple services, accurate diagnosis/procedure assignment, and maintaining productivity and quality in a fast-paced environment. CCS is preferred; RHIT/RHIA considered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience.
• CCS preferred; RHIT or RHIA considered.
• Experience with Epic EHR and the 3M encoder.
• Experience in high-acuity, multi-specialty environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across specialties including Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, NICU.
• Assign diagnosis and procedure codes per standards.
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a high-acuity environment.
• Meet productivity and quality expectations.

Position: Inpatient Coder

Location: 100% Remote (PST Hours)

Contract Length: 6-months, with potential for extension

Medasource is partnering with a leading regional health system to hire experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract opportunity. This role supports a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment and is ideal for coders with strong experience handling complex inpatient cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties, including: Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Additional complex inpatient cases
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations

Qualifications

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background
• Experience working within an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EHR
• Experience using the 3M encoder
