Job summary

Medasource is partnering with a leading regional health system to hire experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract opportunity. This role supports a high-acuity, multi-specIalty environment and is ideal for coders with strong inpatient experience.

ASAP start; 6-month contract with potential extension. Proficiency with Epic EHR and the 3M encoder is preferred; CCS certification strongly valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience.
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background.
• Experience in an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient encounters across specialties including Cardiology, Neurology, Surgery, NICU, and transplants.
• Assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes per standards.
• Maintain timely, high-quality coding in a fast-paced setting.
• Meet productivity and quality targets consistently.

Summary

Medasource is partnering with a leading regional health system to hire experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract opportunity. This role supports a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment and is ideal for coders with strong experience handling complex inpatient cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties, including: Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Additional complex inpatient cases
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations

Qualifications

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background
• Experience working within an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EHR
• Experience using the 3M encoder
