Medasource is seeking experienced inpatient medical coders for a fully remote contract with a leading regional health system. The role focuses on high-acuity, multi-specialty inpatient cases and requires strong coding expertise.

Candidates should have inpatient coding experience (minimum 3 years), CCS/RHIT/RHIA credentials are a plus, and proficiency with Epic EHR and 3M encoder. This is a 6-month contract with potential extension and ASAP start.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of inpatient coding experience in a hospital setting.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and regulatory standards.
• Experience with Epic EHR and the 3M encoder.

Summary

Medasource is partnering with a leading regional health system to hire experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract opportunity. This role supports a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment and is ideal for coders with strong experience handling complex inpatient cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties, including: Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Additional complex inpatient cases
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations

Qualifications

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background
• Experience working within an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EHR
• Experience using the 3M encoder
