Job summary

Mercy Hospital Tishomingo is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) for the Med Surg unit on a PRN basis, with night hours from 7p to 7a. The role supports patient care under RN/LPN supervision and contributes to a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (or CNA/CPTC) and BLS certification within one month of hire. Prior experience is not required, and CNA/CPCT/EMT credentials are preferred as added qualifications.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC, or enrolled in a healthcare program.
• Experience: None required.
• Certifications: BLS within one month of hire; PCA competencies within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the RN or LPN, assists in the individualized care of the patient to achieve the patient’s highest level of wellness.
• Performs designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to providing care.
• Works cooperatively with others as part of a team to meet patient and unit goals.
