Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and develop care plans for an assigned patient group. You will evaluate outcomes, discharge readiness, and revise plans accordingly, while mentoring students and new nurses on the unit.

The role requires a BSN, 2+ years inpatient experience, and flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, with strong English communication in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years recent inpatient clinical nursing experience in adult acute care or completion of UC Irvine Medical Center Clinical Nurse I orientation or new graduate RN residency didactic series
• All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
• Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of assigned patients.
• Evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of plan of care, and readiness for discharge and revise plan or make referrals as necessary.
• Act as a role model and mentor to students and nurses new to the unit; perform as PCC (Patient Care Coordinator) as requested by supervisor/manager
