Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas seeks a Pharmacist Supervisor, Acute Care to manage daily pharmacy operations, oversee staffing and clinical initiatives, and partner with medical staff.

Responsibilities include monitoring pharmacy systems, assisting with budget and high-cost drugs, and leading department initiatives to improve patient care.

Ideal candidate has a PharmD or B.S. in Pharmacy, Texas pharmacist license, BLS, and at least two years of hospital pharmacy experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree of Science or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy.
• 2 years of experience or equivalent pharmacy residency experience.
• BLS certification required by start date; Licensed by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for licensure (Texas license within 30 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enforce organizational and departmental policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate staff development, training, and continuing education; orient new employees and document progress.
• Assist clinical staff pharmacists with therapeutic monitoring and pharmacokinetic calculations.
• Promote pharmacy services; participate in rounds, in-services, and education of students.
• Mentor staff and lead changes in clinical and operational practice.
• Interview, select, and hire qualified candidates; conduct annual appraisals and document performance.
