Job summary

Cardinal Health’s Health Systems Pharmacy division seeks a PRN Pharmacy Technician to support hospital-based operations. The role includes prescription preparation, inventory management and ensuring timely order fulfillment under pharmacist supervision.

Ideal candidates have hospital experience, state tech certification, and strong communication skills to coordinate with patients, clinics and physicians. Shifts vary; pay ranges are provided with reflecting responsibilities.

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent preferred.
Pennsylvania State Pharmacy Technician Certification.
National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) highly preferred.
IV experience preferred.
In-patient hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
Flexibility in working schedule.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and stand for shift.

Responsibilities

Assists pharmacists in filling prescription orders as permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.
Prepares medication for dispensing, packaging and shipment.
Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves and removes out of date items from inventory.
Enters medical supply orders in the pharmacy system.
Communicates with customers (patients, clinics, care‑givers, physicians) professionally.
Processes returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
Inputs patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy information management system.
Maintains knowledge of and abides by all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
