Job summary

Community Hospital is seeking a PRN Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists and patient care in a hospital setting. You will prepare and process medications under pharmacist supervision, assist in stock management, and ensure accurate labeling and storage across units.

The role requires high attention to detail, basic math skills, and collaboration with nursing staff. Previous hospital experience is preferred, and certification is encouraged where eligible.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• One year of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• PTCB certification preferred. Permit as a Pharmacy Technician by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy when eligible.
• Moderately proficient in the use of computer keyboard/terminal, 10-key electronic calculator by touch, 20-30 wpm typing required.

Responsibilities

• Procures and distributes medication orders per pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment.
• Maintains adequate Omnicell medication stock throughout the Hospital.
• Prepares intravenous admixtures or other sterile products accurately.
• Rotates medication stock ensuring appropriate removal of expiring items.
• Procures controlled substances while keeping inventory balanced.
• Assists in answering the phone and directs call or communication to the pharmacist.
• Satisfactorily demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties outlined in this job description as well as continually demonstrates competency in performing the job duties.
