Cardinal Health, Inc. in Hammond, LA is seeking a PRN pharmacy technician to support LTAC Pharmacy operations. You will input patient data, assist pharmacists, prepare medications, and maintain inventory, with hours Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

This role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and compliance with state regulations; licensure is required and hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• State Pharmacy Technician license or national registration/license required.
• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
• In-patient hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inputs patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy system.
• Assists the Pharmacist in filling prescriptions as allowed by state rules.
• Prepares medications for dispensing, packaging and shipment.
• Enters medical supply orders in the pharmacy system.
• Maintains knowledge of and abides by applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves.
• Communicates with patients, clinics and physicians in a professional manner.

This position is a PRN as needed pharmacy technician position. This position is located in Hammond, LA at an LTAC Pharmacy managed by Cardinal Health. Pharmacy Hours are Monday - Friday 8a-4:30pm. There may be opportunity for more hours at the Covington, LA facility as well.

Responsibilities

• Inputs patient data and prescription information into pharmacy information management system
• Assists the Pharmacist in filling prescription orders, as permitted by the State Boards of Pharmacy
• Prepares medications for dispensing, packaging and shipment.
• Enters medical supply orders in pharmacy system
• Maintains knowledge of and abides by applicable pharmacy laws and regulations
• Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves and removes out-of-date items from the inventory
• Communicates with all customers (patients, clinics, care-givers, physicians) in a pleasant and professional manner

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent
• State Pharmacy Technician license or national pharmacy technician registration/license required
• Previous experience working as a Pharmacy Technician is highly preferred
• In-patient hospital pharmacy experience highly preferred
• Ability to work well in a team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required
• Strong customer service skills required
• Comfortable performing repetitive motions/tasks is required
• Ability to manage several tasks at the same time; Ability to focus on tasks ; Ability to evaluate operating conditions ; Ability to exercise sound judgment
• Past IV experience is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to use technology such as computers, smart phones and tablets
• Flexibility with schedule
• Vendor Credentialing may be required

Anticipated Hourly Range: $17.10 - $21.96 per hour
