Job summary

Cardinal Health, Inc. in Round Rock, Texas, is seeking a PRN Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to support the Pharmacist in daily hospital operations. The role involves prescription prep, inventory, and processing returns within hours 8:00am–4:30pm.

You will work in a small inpatient unit (40 beds) and ensure accurate order fulfillment, maintain safety standards, and communicate with customers. Texas license, PTCB/IV certifications preferred, with on-site Pyxis/Omnicell experience valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Texas State Pharmacy Technician license required.
• National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) highly preferred or ability to obtain certification.
• IV certification highly preferred or ability to obtain certification prior to hire.
• In-patient hospital pharmacy experience highly preferred.
• Pyxis/Omnicell experience preferred.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Comfortable performing repetitive motions/tasks.
• Ability to manage several tasks at the same time; Ability to focus on tasks; Ability to evaluate operating conditions; Ability to exercise sound judgment.
• Demonstrated ability to use technology such as computers, smart phones and tablets.
• May require vendor credentialing.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Pharmacist as needed, permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.
• Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Inputs patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy information management system.
• Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves and removes out-of-date items from the inventory.
• Communicates with all customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Maintains knowledge of and abides by all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
