Job summary

Mosaic Life Care is seeking an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for acute care inpatient, rehab, swing bed and LTACH services. You will query providers for documentation and ensure coding accuracy per guidelines, while mentoring coders and supporting education across the team.

The role requires HIM inpatient coding experience, and relevant degrees. Collaboration with CDI and revenue teams supports high-quality documentation and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy, query guidelines.
• Associate's Degree - Health Information Management / Medical Records - Required OR
• Bachelor's Degree - Health Information Management / Medical Records - Preferred

Responsibilities

• Code complex diseases, procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10-CM/PCS per guidelines.
• Query providers to document severity of illness and risk of mortality.
• Mentor and train coders.
• Attain coding quality and productivity goals.
• Collaborate with CDI, revenue integrity, and other departments to ensure documentation accuracy.
• Ensure data accuracy for HIDI and other regulatory agencies.
• Complete special coding projects and basic to intermediate analysis utilizing reports.
• Other duties as assigned.
