Job summary

Med Center Health is seeking an Inpatient Coder to review, analyze, and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS/CPT codes for inpatient and observation encounters. The role supports accurate documentation, coding compliance, and timely submission for optimal reimbursement.

The candidate should have an HIM degree (B.S. or A.S.) and hold CCS/CPC/RHIT/RHIA or equivalent certification within six months of hire. Inpatient coding experience is preferred and collaboration with clinicians and CDI staff is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a health information management degree or related field.
• CCS, CPC, RHIT, RHIA or equivalent certification required within six months of hire.
• Previous inpatient coding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS/CPT codes for inpatient and observation encounters.
• Collaborate with providers and HIM staff to resolve documentation issues and ensure complete, accurate coding.
