Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to serve elementary students in an alternative education setting. The role emphasizes designing engaging, standards-aligned instruction for diverse learners within a learning center or classroom.

The position requires IL educator credentials, lesson planning expertise, and the ability to collaborate with families and staff to support student growth and transition experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• IL professional educator credential (PEL) in process or obtained.
• IL SSE or LBS1 credential in process or obtained.
• Certification in crisis management training.
• Experience with curriculum development, differentiation and instruction.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional process for Elementary School students with IEPs.
• Deliver differentiated instruction in co-teaching settings.
• Develop and implement IEPs, goals and interventions.
• Prepare detailed daily lesson plans aligned to standards.
• Coordinate with parents, staff and administrators on progress.
