Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join project teams designing mechanical systems for power facilities. You will work from conceptual design through construction, coordinating with electrical, structural, and civil disciplines to meet budget and client requirements.

The role includes preparing equipment specifications, data sheets, RFQs, and technical bid summaries, with opportunities for field inspections and design validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• FE or EIT exam preferred.
• Master's degree may substitute for 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs mechanical design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Modifies and reviews production drawings for power projects.
• Designs mechanical systems and selects components per project needs.
• Prepare equipment specs, RFQs, technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.
• Coordinate with vendors, clients and other disciplines for integration.
