Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join the Power global practice. This role focuses on design and evaluation of mechanical systems for coal and natural gas fired generation facilities, plus related support facilities.

The candidate will manage front-end planning, preliminary design, bidding documentation, construction administration, and interface with project managers, equipment suppliers, and clients. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• FE exam completed or equivalent.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design projects for coal and natural gas facilities.
• Provide guidance to less experienced staff and coordinate with clients and suppliers.
• Perform front-end planning, preliminary design, and final design/documentation activities.
