Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer for the Power global practice. You will lead mechanical design projects for coal and natural gas facilities, including front-end planning, preliminary design, and final design with bidding docs and specifications.

Responsibilities include construction administration, submittal reviews, and interfacing with clients, PMs, suppliers and other disciplines. PE preferred; strong communication and problem-solving skills are required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) or equivalent
• FE exam completion; master’s degree may substitute one year experience
• PE license preferred for senior level

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design projects for coal and gas-fired facilities.
• Front-end planning, preliminary design, and code analysis.
• Prepare bidding documents and specifications.
• Manage construction administration and submittal reviews.
• Coordinate with clients, PMs, suppliers, and other disciplines.
• Oversee equipment sizing, piping, valves, and instrumentation choices.
