Job summary

Alamo Group is seeking a Designer to create technical CAD drawings and perform drafting tasks under supervision, reporting to the Engineering Manager. Responsibilities include generating new drawings, updating revisions, and preparing plots for production using Solid Edge 3D, ACAD 2D, and MS Office.

Qualifications require a CAD background with at least a high school diploma; familiarity with mechanical hardware drawings and basic math.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical hardware drawings.
• GD&T is preferred.
• Understanding of basic math and print reading is required.
• Basic written, typing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Familiarity with electrical and hydraulic circuits a plus.
• Ability to communicate with various levels within the organization.
• Effective planning and project management skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Demonstrated leadership competencies in communication, business acumen and results.

Responsibilities

• Using CAD software, generate new drawings as assigned
• Perform routine revisions as directed by department engineers.
• Plot/print drawings for production personnel or others as needed.
• Complete work in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner.
• Understand and use all existing and future company drawing standards.
• Use Solid Edge 3D, ACAD 2D, Microsoft Office programs
• Adhere to all company safety policies, work rules and standard operating procedures.
• Assist other designing engineers as needed.
• Other duties as required.
