Job summary

Alamo Group is seeking a Designer to create technical drawings using CAD software and to perform all drafting tasks assigned by supervisors. You will report to our Engineering Manager and work with engineers to generate, revise, and plot drawings, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

The position requires knowledge of Solid Edge 3D and AutoCAD 2D, basic math, GD&T preferred, and effective communication within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical hardware drawings.
• GD&T is preferred.
• Understanding of basic math and print reading is required.
• Basic written, typing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Familiarity with electrical and hydraulic circuits a plus.
• Ability to communicate with various levels within the organization.
• Effective planning and project management skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Demonstrated leadership competencies in communication, business acumen, and results-driven mindset.

Responsibilities

• Using CAD software, generate new drawings as assigned.
• Perform routine revisions as directed by department engineers.
• Plot/print drawings for production personnel or others as needed.
• Complete work in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner.
• Understand and use all existing and future company drawing standards.
• Assist other designing engineers as needed.
• Other duties as required.
