Job summary

Alamo Group in Michigan seeks a Designer to create technical CAD drawings using Solid Edge 3D and AutoCAD 2D. You will maintain records, revise drawings as directed by engineers, and plot outputs for production.

The role reports to the Engineering Manager and requires adherence to drawing standards and safety policies. Candidates should have experience in mechanical hardware drawings, with GD&T preferred, and strong math/reading skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical hardware drawings.
• GD&T is preferred.
• Understanding of basic math and print reading is required.
• Basic written, typing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Familiarity with electrical and hydraulic circuits a plus.
• Ability to communicate with various levels within the organization.
• Effective planning and project management skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Use CAD software to generate new drawings as assigned.
• Maintain drafting records (logs, filing, etc.).
• Perform routine revisions as directed by engineers.
• Plot/print drawings for production personnel as needed.
• Complete work in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner.
• Adhere to company drawing standards and safety policies.
• Assist other designing engineers as needed.
• Other duties as required.
