Job summary

The Designer at Alamo Group will create technical CAD drawings using Solid Edge 3D and ACAD 2D, reporting to the Engineering Manager. This on-site Michigan role requires attention to drawing standards, safety policies, and collaboration with engineers to advance heavy equipment design.

Responsibilities include drafting new drawings, revisions, plotting, and coordinating with production. Strong math, communication, and project management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical hardware drawings.
• GD&T is preferred.
• Understanding of basic math and print reading is required.
• Basic written, typing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Familiarity with electrical and hydraulic circuits a plus.
• Ability to communicate with various levels within the organization.
• Effective planning and project management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership competencies: Communication, Business Acumen, Results Driven.

Responsibilities

• Using CAD software, generate new drawings as assigned
• Perform routine revisions as directed by department engineers.
• Plot/print drawings for production personnel or others as needed.
• Complete work in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner.
• Understand and use all existing and future company drawing standards.
• Use Solid Edge 3D, ACAD 2D, Microsoft Office programs
• Adhere to all company safety policies, work rules and standard operating procedures.
• Assist other designing engineers as needed.
• Other duties as required.
