Job summary

Alamo Group Inc. is seeking a CAD Designer to create technical drawings using CAD software. The designer will generate new drawings, revise existing ones, and maintain records under supervision.

Proficiency in Solid Edge 3D, AutoCAD 2D, and MS Office is required, with a solid understanding of drawing standards and safety policies. The role reports to the Engineering Manager. The ideal candidate has experience in mechanical hardware drawings and good math/print-reading skills, along with strong

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical hardware drawings.
• GD&T is preferred.
• Understanding of basic math and print reading is required.
• Basic written, typing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Familiarity with electrical and hydraulic circuits a plus.
• Ability to communicate with various levels within the organization.
• Effective planning and project management skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Using CAD software, generate new drawings as assigned.
• Maintain drafting related records; i.e. logs, filing, etc.
• Perform routine revisions as directed by department engineers.
• Plot/print drawings for production personnel or others as needed.
• Complete work in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner.
• Understand and use all existing and future company drawing standards.
• Use Solid Edge 3D, ACAD 2D, Microsoft Office programs.
• Adhere to all company safety policies, work rules and standard operating procedures.
• Assist other designing engineers as needed.
• Other duties as required.
