Qualifications

• Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Records Specialist 1; or three years of clerical or correctional custodial experience including one year in a correctional facility.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of clerical or correctional custodial experience in a correctional facility.

Responsibilities

• Record management: Collect information from multiple sources to maintain accurate inmate records.
• Document review: Examine court orders and related documents to determine proper actions for release, confinement, or sentence changes.
• Identity processing: Interview, photograph, and fingerprint inmates to ensure proper identification and documentation.
• Information coordination: Relay required updates to inmates, institutional staff, and partner agencies to support clear and timely communication.
• Transport authorization: Arrange and verify releases and transport procedures by confirming approvals and the identity of transporting officials.
• Safety support: Assist with escorts, respond to incidents, and conduct searches to maintain secure work areas.
