Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Corrections Records Specialist for the State Correctional Institution Camp Hill to keep inmate records accurate and secure. You will review court documents, maintain records, interview and fingerprint inmates, and coordinate information with staff and partner agencies.

You will work a 40-hour week, no telework, with daytime hours and a focus on safety and compliance within a correctional environment. Prior corrections-related experience is required.

Qualifications

• One year as a Records Specialist or equivalent Federal/ Commonwealth title.
• Three years of clerical or correctional custodial experience including one year in a correctional facility.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training in a correctional environment.

Responsibilities

• Collect information from multiple sources to maintain inmate records.
• Examine court orders and related documents to determine actions for release, confinement, or sentence changes.
• Interview, photograph, and fingerprint inmates for proper identification.
• Relay updates to inmates, staff, and partner agencies for timely communication.
• Arrange and verify releases and transport procedures with correct approvals.
• Assist with escorts, respond to incidents, and conduct searches to maintain security.
